JOB POSTING: Borough Secretary/Treasurer
The Borough of Jamestown is seeking a qualified, organized, and proactive individual to serve as the full-time Borough Secretary/Treasurer. This key position works closely with the Borough Council to manage administrative, financial, and regulatory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Administration: Preparing Council meeting agendas, recording detailed minutes, maintaining official records, and managing public information requests (Right to Know). Attendance at Borough Council meetings is required.
· Finance: Managing payroll, pension plan, accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits, assisting with budget preparation, and managing state/federal reporting.
· Compliance: Ensuring operations comply with the Pennsylvania Borough Code.
· Customer Service: Acting as the primary point of contact for residents, contractors, and visitors.
· Managerial responsibilities and Grant Administration may gradually be added to the position.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting, or Business preferred.
· Proven experience in bookkeeping, office management, or municipal administration.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and financial software (Sage preferred).
· Must be bondable.
