2022 RECYCLING For JAMESTOWN AREA

THIS SERVICE IS OFFERED BY THE JAMESTOWN BOROUGH WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE JAMESTOWN LIONS CLUB. 

RECYCLING LOCATION IS EAST OF LION’S CLUB BUILDING

SHENANGO STREET, JAMESTOWN, PA

THIRD SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH


THE LION'S CLUB IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR EXTRA HELP ON RECYCLING DAYS. IF YOU OR YOUR CLUB/ORGANIZATION WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER PLEASE REACH OUT TO MAYOR JUSTIN PIPP AT (814) 573-5891.

What to recycle

NO GLASS ACCEPTED

  • flattened cardboard boxes (corrugated, cereal, pasta, etc.)
  • metal cans ( crush if possible)
  • plastic bottles/containers #1-5 & 7 (please crush if possible)
  • newspapers, magazines, junk mail, dairy & juice containers

How to recycle

  • Put ALL recyclables together - DO NOT SORT
  • Dump loose recyclables in the recycling dumpster - DO NOT BAG
  • Rinse out all containers
  • Please crush all gallon milk containers, put lids back on
  • Keep lids on containers
  • DO NOT recycle plastic bags

Why recycle?

  1. Why not! It is good for the Earth!
  2. Reduces waste and saves energy!
  3. Creates jobs and protects wildlife!

Recycling/Reusing Ideas

  • Electronics - contact ECSR at 814-425-7773 located on US Highway 19
  • Used Tires - recycle at Flynn's Tires in Meadville ($2.00 a tire)
  • Plastic from straw/hay bales - Reuse as garden ground cover
  • For small hard to recycle (H2R) items: mcc.co.mercer.pa.us
